First Mother's Day Poems

If you were to ask women across the world about the single most greatest and the happiest moment of their lives; "Being a mother" would be a unanimous reply. Giving birth to a child is an overwhelming experience in itself. From the moment a woman knows of the baby growing inside her womb to the moment she holds her newborn in her arms for the first time; it's a journey that every woman wishes to experience. It's the moment, after which a woman is regarded as complete. And as much of emotions and sentiments are attached to that single day of her life, it makes the experience all the more joyous and memorable. Then come her first Mother's Day, which she celebrates with her new bundle of joy.  A number of poems have been written on first-time mothers, describing their joys and emotions on their first Mother's Day. In case you want to explore them, read the lines below.

Poetry for First Mother's Day

First Mother's Day
Little girls have always dreamed,
Of one day being grown;
Of having a home and family,
And children of their own.
As little girls they played the games,
With dollies cuddled near;
Of being grown up Mommies,
And now that day is here.

For cuddled sweetly in her arms,
Of the little girl now grown;
Is the sweetest dream she ever dreamed,
A baby of her own.
In all the years of growing up,
In the games that little girls play;
None will ever be so sweet,
As her very first Mother's Day.

Mothers Day
A Mother loves right from the start.
She holds her baby close to her heart.
The bond that grows will never falter.
Her love is so strong it will never alter.
A Mother gives never ending Love.
She never feels that she has given enough.
For you she will always do her best.
Constantly working, there's no time to rest.
A Mother is there when things go wrong.
A hug and a kiss to help us along.
Always there when we need her near.
Gently wipes our eyes when we shed a tear.
So on this day shower your Mother with Love.
Gifts and presents are nice but that is not enough.
Give your Mother a day to have some peace of mind.
Be gentle, be good, be helpful, be kind.
Happy Mothers Day.

God Created Mothers
God knew that little ones need love
So He created mothers
With understanding hearts and
gentle hands that care for others...

They feed us and they hug us
and they help us find our things...
Then later on, they step aside
and let us try our wings...

We know the're always on our side
whatever may befall,
That's why we need them just as much
when we're no longer small...

Yes, God created mothers
to give love their whole lives through...
That's why they're treasured very much
especially one like you!

Only One Mother
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,
Hundreds of shells on the shore together,
Hundreds of birds that go singing by,
Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather.
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the world wide over.
