Easy Waffles Recipe

For, it is that time of the year when we get to express our love and care for the most wonderful creation on earth - mother. Mothers have always been our supporters in all walks of life. They love and care for us throughout their lives with nothing in exchange for it. As such, Mother's Day comes across as a golden opportunity to honor and pay tribute to them for all that they have and will continue to do so. With the festival drawing closer, everyone gets busy buying gifts, cards, and flowers for their mothers. However, some people choose to stay back at home to treat their moms with homemade meals. You too can let your mom take a break from her daily schedules and surprise her with a light breakfast in bed. Waffles are enjoyed and relished by one and all. Classic Waffles

Ingredients
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp White Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1½ cups warm Milk
  • 1/3 cup Butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Method:
  • Combine flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar together in a large mixing bowl.
  • Preheat a waffle iron to the desired temperature.
  • Beat eggs in a separate bowl.
  • Add milk, butter, and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Pour this milk mixture in the flour mixture. Beat well until blended.
  • Ladle some batter into the heated waffle iron.
  • Cook until the waffle turns golden and crisp.
  • Remove and serve immediately.
  • Repeat the same with the remaining batter.
Chocolate Waffles

Ingredients
  • 2¼ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup White Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • ¾ tsp Salt
  • ¾ cup Butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1½ cups Milk
  • 6 Egg Whites
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
Method:
  • Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl. Keep aside.
  • Combine butter and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute on high power.
  • Stir and cook at intervals of 15 seconds, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate has completely melted and turned smooth. Remove and set aside to cool.
  • When the chocolate mixture turns a little cool, add milk, egg whites, and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Pour this mixture into the flour mixture and beat until just blended.
  • Preheat the waffle iron and grease with cooking spray.
  • Pour a spoonful of the batter on the hot iron.
  • Close the iron and cook until the iron stops steaming and waffles can be easily removed.
  • Remove and place on a serving plate.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.
Crispy Cornmeal Waffles

Ingredients
  • 2¼ cups Cornmeal
  • ¾ cup Flour
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 3 Eggs (separated)
  • 1½ cups Milk (whole or skimmed)
  • ½ cup Butter or Margarine (melted)
Method:
  • Beat egg yolks in a medium bowl, until stiff.
  • Combine cornmeal, flour, and sugar together in a large bowl.
  • Add milk and butter to beaten egg yolks. Beat well.
  • Gradually add the cornmeal mixture to milk-buttermilk mixture. Blend well.
  • In case the batter is too thick, add a little milk; if it is too thin, add a little more cornmeal.
  • Gently fold in egg whites.
  • Heat a waffle iron.
  • Pour some waffle batter into the hot iron. Cook until golden brown.
  • Transfer into a serving plate.
  • Repeat the same with the remaining batter.
  • Serve warm with melted butter/margarine and warm maple syrup.
